Wanted to share my excitement about our newly budding relationship with the Mount Dora Golf Club in Mount Dora, FL. Under the direction of PGA Professional Stephen Lotz, and course GM Luke Covey, the Mount Dora Golf Club, and its Board of Directors has a dynamic plan in place for bringing a short game practice area in the short term to the course and a new driving range and learning center in the long term.
We (Little Linksters) will be moving into an indoor space at the club over the next two weeks. In this space, we will create an indoor learning center. It will include one hitting bay with a simulator/radar donated by SkyTrak, a Power Tee station, donated by Power Tee Golf, and a V1 Swing Analysis system.
Our relationship with the Mount Dora Golf Club will be a very unique and special one. Over the years, we (Little Linksters) have indeed had a few great location and host partners for providing our programming at. This relationship with Mount Dora is different however. Not only the club but community organizations have quickly embraced us and recognize the impact we can have on the community at large. Most notably, the programming we can offer to the youth of Mount Dora and Lake County but also, and very importantly, the programming we can offer from a diversity and inclusionary standpoint, which is a cornerstone of our organization. We will now, finally, have a situation that will give us a home, a true home, to provide our programming to kids of all ages, races and both boys and girls as well as youth with special needs. We will continue our already existing program at Wekiva Golf Club and the various schools we conduct them at, but now, we will have our home at Mount Dora.
Many of you have helped our organization over the past decade. This new relationship is the most substantial development Little Linksters has had since its inception in 2008. We would greatly appreciate your support in this project as we ramp up bringing the full force of our organization’s capabilities to this community.
Many of you that we have approached in previous years, around mid-year, stated that you had made your giving considerations for the year already. This is why we are reaching out early in 2021, to start that conversation earlier for those we have missed consideration from in years past. For those that have given to us over the years, we are obviously starting our fundraising earlier this year and would love for you to consider again in 2021.
Areas of focus in 2021:
- Program Scholarships for Special Needs Youth
- Program Scholarships for Minority Youth
- Program Scholarships for Low-Income Household Youth
- Program Scholarships for Young Ladies
- Private Lesson Scholarships for Intermediate to Advanced Youth with Household Income Constraints.
- Assistance with the Short Game and Putting Green area at Mount Dora Golf Club
We are seeking pledges in any of the areas above. Marketing benefits or having scholarships marketed in your business or organizations name are absolutely part of any giving you may consider.
If you are interested in making a pledge but doing so in another way, or doing so through the donation of products, etc. please let us know.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
More about Mount Dora Golf Club:
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I. ‘s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was built in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as “The longest 5,700 yards in Florida” thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.
