Next up on Curated, my look at measuring clubs for kids and fitting them properly. Like my story yesterday about youth golf equipment choices, I am thrilled to have this forum which allows me to share my knowledge on topics like this with a broader audience. If I can help kids, their parents, or really any golfer, or soon to be golfer, enjoy their experience just a little more, than I get to end my day with a smile.
Big thanks to John Bryan from U.S. Kids Golf for helping me with some photos and graphics for my last two articles. U.S. Kids Golf had been at the forefront of the youth golf market for almost 3 decades and have always been great to work with.
I look at a few other in this and yesterdays articles on youth clubs, including a very interesting one in the one I’m sharing now on a company called IGEN Golf…
Enjoy the read!

A lot of kids have come through our various group programs over the years. From our Little Linksters programs, PGA Jr. League, and PGA Junior Golf Camps to private coaching with me.
Many of those kids started with us while very young and then, as teens, have come back to volunteer or work with us.
We have built a pretty extensive and cool extended family through golf, and that is a great feeling!
One kid who has been involved with us at various points along her golf journey is Bretton Mackiewicz.
She is an amazing golfer and a great all-around kid.
Bretton will be representing the First Tee - Central Florida at this week's PGA TOUR Champions PURE Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach!!
I can proudly speak on behalf of everyone at Little Linksters in saying, "GOOD LUCK B! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!"

The time has come once again...after a hiatus last year, we were back this year for our 12th Little Linksters Best Pee Wee Golf Swing in the World Video Contest!
Like in years past, we had amazing entries, and particularly this year in the younger age groups...it was not an easy task for our judges!
It is important for kids and parents to know that the true purpose of this contest is not at all about winning, but rather, as with everything Little Linksters does, is to have fun. This contest is proof positive that golf, among the youngest of golfers, is alive and well, and we want to celebrate this by showing the world your child’s swing!
We understand that with any contest, individuals will be very excited about the chances of winning, but please keep in mind that all of the kids are winners by having a club in their little hands at such a young age! Keep in mind that this game just so happens to be one that can be played for a lifetime…with all this in perspective, we hope you enjoyed making your videos with your little ones and, as always, enjoyed the time with your family!
After 12 years of the contest, we have had...
Kids ages 1-12 take part
Kids from 33 different countries take part 🌍
Just over 2,500 videos were submitted!
⛳ is alive and well with our youth!
Thanks to our judges!
Sam Ryder, Alexa Pano, Stacy Lewis, Tom Reid, Zoe Allen, Michelle Holmes, Jason Helman, Joseph Hallett, and me, Brendon Elliott, PGA
Thanks so much to our sponsor, V1 Sports 🤘

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to start using DECADE Golf with my students.
I love the screen shot below…Stop Thinking “Don’t Do” when playing a round and completely committing to a process…Love it!
While a good portion of what Scott Fawcett teaches justifies what I have tried to impart on my students for a long time, there is tons of incredible nuggets that are new to even me.
Most importantly, he teaches connecting the dots, having things make a whole lot of sense in terms of taking your “game” or in other words, your current “skill set” and transferring it over to the course…something most golfers, even the pros occasionally, struggle with.
It’s an amazing combination of taking what your patterns are under a “calm” non-competitive environment, like we have on the range, and learning to take both that mindset, through a repetitive pattern and self-talk (your routine), and overlaying that onto on-course, competitive situations.
You gather your pre-shot info (yardage, wind, green depth and width, and other factors), find your aim point based on your shot pattern, get set to that, and pull the trigger. No extra thoughts, no unnecessary emotions, just fully having faith in a system based on data and being consistent in your approach (routine, self-talk, decisions based on percentages, etc.).
I still have a ways to go with DECADE, and we are only getting starting diving into it with my students, but I know this…
With DECADE, you learn to PLAY golf, and when you can do that, you will score better!
